Spacebox Storage USA of North Fort Myers has announced that during the month of August the company and its new customers raised $4,692 for the family of Officer Andrew Widman.

A check for $4,692 was presented to Jason Fletcher of “Hero Care-Widman Family Fund” on Sept. 9.

Widman, 30, was killed July 18 after responding to a reported domestic dispute in downtown Fort Myers

The officer’s widow, Susanna Widman, and their three children, Samuel, Sasha and Sylvia, will receive 100 percent of the donation.

Spacebox Storage donated the first month’s storage rents from its new customers during the month of August. The Widman family will also receive a free 10-foot by 10-foot air-conditioned storage unit for life.

The campaign included 100 percent of the first month’s rental unit income going directly to the Widman family and a following three-month special.

Right now we are running a two-months free special,” said Steve Shortino, property manager. “Stop by and see our new facility.”

Spacebox Storage USA is located at 14251 N. Cleveland Ave.
