Woman in April bus crash dies of injuries
A woman who was critically injured in a school bus accident nearly a month ago has died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash, officials reported.
Carolyn Carter, 50, was the passenger of a late model Pontiac Bonneville driven by her 16-year-old daughter Danielle which was hit April 29 by a Trafalgar Middle School bus at the intersection of Surfside Boulevard and Veterans Parkway.
Danielle and Carolyn were both taken to the hospital in critical condition, and Danielle later recovered. Police said Carolyn died Saturday at 11:15 p.m. of her injuries.
No one on the school bus was seriously injured in the crash, and the driver of the bus was not found to be at fault in the crash, according to police.
A traffic signal is currently under construction at the busy intersection and is slated to be completed by the end of May, officials said last month.
