By Staff | Mar 19, 2008

Two Cape Coral men approached a 10-year-old boy at a Sanibel intersection and attempted to lure the child into their vehicle, police said.

Brent Allmon, 18, and Dustin Allmon, 20, both of 3651 Janis Road, are each charged with luring or enticing a child under 16 years of age. According to a report from the Sanibel Police Department, the brothers approached the boy Wednesday at Wax Myrtle Way and Tarpon Bay Road.

Sanibel Police Chief Bill Tomlinson explained that the men attempted to lure the boy into their vehicle, a two-door black 1997 Ford, being driven by Brent Allmon. Local authorities later arrested and charged the men at 5:16 p.m.

According to the Lee County Clerk’s Office, both men were released Thursday after posting bond. They are scheduled to be arraigned before Judge Josephine Gagliardi on April 1 at 8 a.m.

The Sanibel Police Department is not releasing any further information on the details of the incident until criminal charges are filed.
