DELAND (AP) – Deputies in Volusia County are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting near DeLand that left a young boy injured.

A passenger in a car fired shots at a house while Marcos Bolanos was standing in the front yard with his father, aunt and uncle on Friday night. Family members took the 11-year-old to a local hospital after he said he was hit by the gunfire.

According to a Volusia County Sheriff’s Office news release, Bolanos’ injuries weren’t life threatening.
