JUPITER (AP) – Authorities say a Palm Beach Gardens woman died after falling overboard in waters near the Jupiter Inlet.

According to a news release from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Mike Aubrey called the Coast Guard on Saturday afternoon after he heard a thud and noticed that his wife, Melissa Aubrey, had fallen overboard. Mike Aubrey was driving his 24-foot boat at the time of the incident.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit helped bring Melissa Aubrey to shore. She was airlifted to a hospital and pronounced dead.
