Four teachers fired for harassment

By Staff | Jun 18, 2009

DAYTONA BEACH (AP) – Bethune-Cookman University has fired four professors for sexual harassment of students.

University President Trudie Kibbe Reed announced the firings on Tuesday night. Reed said an independent investigation prompted by a student’s complaint determined that the faculty members had engaged in inappropriate conduct with female students.

Reed says the professors’ behavior has no place on any college campus – “particularly a church-related, values-based institution like Bethune-Cookman University.”

Bethune-Cookman spokeswoman Liz Poston says the university won’t identify the fired teachers or release the investigators’ report.
