PANAMA CITY BEACH (AP) – Authorities say a Panama City Beach spring breaker survived a six-story balcony fall with relatively few injuries.

Police say 23-year-old Ross Skarda was in guarded condition after falling off the condo balcony early Monday morning. Officers found Skarda in sand dunes next to the beach-side building.

A police spokesman says Skarda was showing off for friends by standing on a chair on the balcony, and the chair kicked out from under him. He toppled over the edge, landing in sand and sea oats.
