TAMPA (AP) – Authorities say a Tampa Bay man told investigators the devil made him intentionally hit a stranger with his truck.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reports that 50-year-old Stephen David Seal was arrested Sunday after driving his Ford F-150 at the 23-year-old victim, who Seal claimed not to know. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

At some point after his arrest, Seal reportedly said, “The devil made me do it; I just hit him.”

Seal was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He was being held without bail set.
