WEST PALM BEACH (AP) – Palm Beach County School District officials are investigating whether a school bus driver fell asleep at the wheel.

A school district spokesman said the driver, whose name wasn’t released, has been taken off his route until an investigation is completed. The driver has denied allegations that he dozed off while transporting students from Christa McAuliffe Middle School on Thursday.

The district spokesman said school police will talk to students and district officials will review footage from the bus. He called the allegation “pretty serious.”
