Dean charged with stealing from UCF
ORLANDO (AP) – The University of Central Florida reports that an associate dean used a school credit card to buy $40,000 worth of home entertainment equipment.
Jail records show Jamal Nayfeh turned himself in on Wednesday and was later released on $3,000 bail.
A UCF official says a routine budget audit conducted in early January revealed the charge was made to Nayfeh’s purchasing card in December. The school official says UCF police were notified shortly after finding the charge.
Nayfeh is an associate dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science and a professor of mechanical engineering. The school’s Web site says he has been at UCF for 18 years.
