No signs of abuse on children found dead
NAPLES (AP) – Authorities say there are no outwards signs of abuse on the bodies of two children found dead in a small storage trunk over the weekend in their Naples condominium.
Neighbors said they thought the deaths were an accident and the children were trapped in the trunk, which has a lock, while playing hide-and-seek.
Four-year-old Lillina Herrera and 5-year-old Ethan Herrera were found Saturday by their mother inside a brown wicker trunk. They were pronounced dead at a hospital. Autopsy results could take weeks.
