Teen who shot friend charged as adult
WILTON MANORS (AP) – A teenager accused of fatally shooting her friend at a South Florida high school has been charged as an adult.
Broward State Attorney’s Office spokesman Ron Ishoy says fifteen-year-old Teah Wimberly was charged Thursday as an adult for second-degree murder. She was previously charged with first-degree murder.
Authorities say Wimberly and Amanda Collette were longtime friends who had recently stopped speaking before Wimberly shot her at Dillard High School in November. She then ran to a nearby restaurant, called police and confessed.
