2 killed in head-on collision
CLERMONT, Fla. (AP) _ Authorities say two people were killed and two others were injured when a car traveling in the wrong direction collided head-on with another vehicle in Lake County.
Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 32-year-old Groveland man was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of State Road 50 just after midnight Saturday. He collided with a car being driven by 19-year-old Heather Rogers. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Rogers’ husband and sister, who were riding with her, were both injured in the crash and taken by helicopter to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Authorities are still investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
