Fla. law firm dedicates building to boot camp teen
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) _ A nonprofit Tallahassee law firm that represents the family of Martin Lee Anderson has renamed its building and dedicated it in memory of the teen.
The 14-year-old died in 2006, after being hit and kicked by guards at a juvenile boot camp, as a nurse watched. The 30-minute altercation was captured on video.
Jurors found the eight not guilty in Anderson’s death, but a federal investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Legal Services of North Florida is now The Parks and Crump Justice Center. Anderson’s parents attended the dedication event last week.
