Cape Coral Technical College’s evening classes for fall semester begin Aug. 25
Cape Coral Technical College is offering evening classes for the fall 2015 semester for Hospitality, Business and Technology, and Health and Medical programs. The Learning Center will also be open for Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) testing on Thursday evenings from 5-8. Night programs will begin Tuesday, Aug. 25.
The Hospitality program will offer a Nails Specialty course on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-8 p.m. and will focus on safe and efficient work practices; enable students to gain understanding of Florida cosmetology law and rules; and teach the skills and techniques essential to effective performance within the nails specialist profession, including knowledge of chemistry, bacteriology, anatomy and physiology. The program will also instill communication, leadership, human relations and employability skills. The Nails Specialty program is a 240-hour course and will continue into the spring semester.
The Business and Technology program will offer an Introduction to QuickBooks course on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m., which will provide an introductory look into the QuickBooks accounting software program. An IT Certification and Network Support course will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-9 p.m. and will prepare students for employment in the information technology and network support industries through instruction on a variety of technology-related concepts, customer service and human relations skills. Satisfactory academic performance can help students earn the Cisco Certified Network Associate industry certification.
The Health and Medical program will offer a Nursing Assistant course for long-term care on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-9 p.m. This program will prepare students for employment as nursing assistants or nurse aides in nursing homes, hospitals and in-home care and also provides additional training for individuals formerly or presently employed in these professions. Students completing this program will be eligible to take the Florida State Certification Exam. Course content will include direct patient care such as bathing, feeding, dressing, assisting with mobility, comfort and safety, along with skills related to communication and human relations, legal and ethical responsibilities, infection control, personal care and elimination, geriatric care, restorative activities and employability.
