Cape Coral

Knights of Columbus plan holiday cruise

The Knights of Columbus No. 7131 sets sail for the Hawaiian islands, April 11, 2010, on the Golden Princess for a 14-day cruise from Los Angeles, including a four-day cruise to Hawaii visiting Hilo, Honolulu, Kaual, Maui; and a four-day cruise to Ensenada, Mexico then back to Los Angeles.

Lake Kennedy Senior Center

n Natural Golf with Joe Tranchida, Wednesdays, at 1 p.m. Requirements: wear comfortable clothing and footwear, bring a driver, a 6 iron, a 9 iron and a putter. The cost is $2 for members, $6 for non-members.

– Line dancing with Tenny Popa, Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. The cost is $3 for members and $7 for non-members.

– Annual Summer Luau with DoubleDare, Friday, July 24, 7 p.m. Reservations are required. The cost is $22 for members, $32 for non-members.

– Matinee Dinner Cabaret at Visani Dinner Theater, Port Charlotte, Wednesday, Aug. 5. Leave from the center at 10:15 a.m. The cost is $67 for members, $77 for non-members.

Tony Rotino Senior Center

The Tony Rotino Senior Center will be open 4:30 p.m. to sunset the first Wednesday of every month. Come on down to the Yacht Club Community Park, and enjoy the “Sunset Celebra-tion” held on the Yacht Club pier. The center is located at 5817 Driftwood Parkway in Cape Coral, Florida.

Indoor Marketplace:

Whether you are looking for a bargain, or are a vendor looking for a place to sell your wares, why not experience it all in air-conditioned comfort! The Tony Rotino Senior Center is opening it’s doors the second Saturday of every month for an Indoor Marketplace. If you are a vendor with wares to sell, old or new, plan on joining us for this monthly event. This is a great opportunity to clear out the garage and those spare rooms that seem to collect “stuff!” Advance registration is required.

For vendors, the cost is $20 per 8-foot table and two chairs, 50 percent discount on one table for first-time vendor. Attendance for the public is free; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (7:30 a.m. for vendor set-up).

Rotino Shop-A-Holics

The Rotino Shop-A-Holics will be heading out for fun and fashions!

Join the gals as they venture to a different venue the last Friday of each month. They will depart the Rotino Center at 8:30 a.m. Cost includes transportation and an escort. Pre-registration is required.

Cubs versus Marlins baseball trip

A bus trip to see the Chicago Cubs take on the Florida Marlins will be held Saturday, Aug. 1. The $55 per-person cost includes round-trip transportation from the Yacht Club Community Park, game ticket, parking and tolls, plus snacks and soft drinks during the bus trip.

Southwest Florida Symphony holds auditions

The Southwest Florida Symphony will hold chorus auditions for adults and children Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 31, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at First Baptist Church in downtown Fort Myers.

The Youth Orchestra auditions will be held Aug. 31, and Sept. 1. Time and location will be announced later.

Summer Jam

Join The Freak Show, Fab First Lady Niki, Scrappy and DJ Quest on Sunday, Aug. 2, at Ricochet for the concert of the season. With several Top 10 charting hits, headlining the event is Pitbull, a national superstar hip hop artist. Pitbull has three albums out, with a new release on Sept. 1. He also has two of the hottest hits in America – “Calle Ocho” and “Hotel, Motel.” A staple in hip hop, Twista will also take the stage at Summer Jam. Twista is known for being the fastest rapper on the microphone with a top 10 song right now nationally. Backing them up will be Black Dada (“I’m a Zoe,”), Vistoso Bosses (“Delirious” and SAL’ and J Black.

As always, 105.5 The Beat will continue to add artists as the show gets closer, and promises to deliver this area’s best in Hip Hop Concert Entertain-ment.
