Lee County Public Schools foundation
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is in need of mentors to match with high school students who have been awarded the Take Stock in Children Scholarship. The mentor commits to meet with the child during school hours two to four times a month. No tutoring is involved and basic training is provided. To help out, call 275-4427.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Florida
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Florida is in need of mentors to match with children in need of a caring adult in their lives. Volunteers can choose to be a Big Brother or Big Sister in either the school-based program, where they mentor a child at school one hour a week, or the community-based program, in which they mentor the child twice a month by doing various activities in the community. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old for the school-based program, and 18 years old for the community-based program.
