Library Art Gallery
The Cape Coral-Lee County Public Library Art Gallery, 921 S.W. 39th Terrace, welcomes a mix of artists for July. David Acevedo has been expressing his mind in images since he was strong enough to hold a pencil and piece of paper. This year Acevedo was awarded New Visual Artist of the Year at the Alliance of the Arts Award Show. Ralph Del Coro will display his “eggery,” a collection of special “eggs.” Beverly Taht of Cape Coral and Beth Iens of Fort Myers will show their custom-made jewelry. The Cape Coral Art League, 516 Cultural Park Blvd., announces its summer class schedule:
– Today-July 28: Jewelry design with Lois Johnson from 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesdays.

‘Children of the Everglades’
The Lee County Port Authority and Lee County Alliance of the Arts recently installed an exhibit, titled “Children of the Everglades,” at Southwest Florida International Airport as part of the “Art in Flight” program. The exhibit, which will be on display until May 2010, includes photographs of Florida’s Seminole-Miccosukee Indians and artifacts on loan from the Hanson Family Archives.
