Sunset Celebration

Celebrate the sunsets Florida style down at the Cape Coral Yacht Club beach and listen to live music with Joseph “Two Hands one Man Band” Wednesday, July 1. from 6:30 to 7 p.m. the Calendar Girls (a dance team made up of women age 50 and older) will be performing on the beach. Also a fund-raiser for “Paws for Patriots” Over 30 vendors will be selling their arts and crafts. Sunset Celebration is free and open to the public. Space is still available for vendors. Lake Kennedy Senior Center

Natural Golf with Joe Tranchida, Wednesdays at 1 p.m. Requirements: wear comfortable clothing and footwear, bring a driver, a 6 iron, a 9 iron and a putter. The cost is $2 for members and $6 for non-members.

Line dancing with Tenny Popa Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. The cost is $3 per person for members and $7 per person for non-members.

Ice cream social open house Friday, July 10, 1 to 3 p.m. There is no cost but reservations are required.

Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida, Friday, July 17. Leave the center 8:15 a.m. (arrive at center by 8 a.m.). The cost is $45 for members and $55 for non-members.

Annual Summer Luau with DoubleDare, Friday, July 24, at 7 p.m. The cost is $22 for members $32 for non-members.

Trash to treasure sale

A trash to treasure sale will be held at Eco Preserve on July 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $20 per space. Clean out the house and bring goodies to the sale or just come and shop, Bring merchandise and rent a space. Advance registration is required. Call Rotary Park to register.

Mangomania Tropical Fruit Festival

Tony Rotino Senior Center

Belly dance class

Belly dance class for teens and adult. Shell Museum exhibit

Calusa Archaeology Lecture The Shell Museum

Learn about the pre-Columbian Indians who lived on Sanibel from Dr. Arlene Fradkin of Florida Atlantic University on Saturday, July 11, at 2 p.m. at The Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum on Sanibel. The talk is sponsored by the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum and the Southwest Florida Archaeological Society (SWFAS). Reservations are not required and the cost is the $7 admission to the museum.

The Shell Museum’s “Calusa: The Original Shell People” exhibit incorporates some of the artifacts found at the Wightman site.
