Lee County High Tech Center North held its annual awards program on Friday, June 5.

Students were recognized for their service to the school and for the awards they had won at regional and state competitions. Several scholarships were recognized and the students nominated by their instructors for consideration as the High Tech North Student of the Year were recognized.

Joshua Noom was selected from a very qualified field to be the 2008-2009 Student of the Year, according to an announcement by the director of High Tech North, Michael A. Schiffer.

“Josh is one of the most talented students I have had the pleasure of working with in all my years of instruction,” said Noom’s digital design instructor, Kevin Hawk. “He is creative, innovative, pays exacting attention to detail and his talents have been judged and recognized by the multiple awards he has won in competition with his peers this year.”
