Sunset Celebration
Celebrate the sunsets Florida-style Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m., at the beach and enjoy live music with David Barbe, aka “The Flamingo Kid.” Food and drink specials at KC’s Riverstop, and over 40 vendors selling their arts and crafts, jewelry, gift items and more.

Lake Kennedy Senior Center
Friday at 1 p.m. the 19th Annual Community Hurricane and Storm Seminar will be held in the grand ballroom. Appearing will be Jim Reif, ABC 7; Bill Van Heldenl, Fire Chief/Emergency Management; Rob Petrovich, Chief of Police; Cape Coral; David Saniter Lee County Emergency Program Planner; American Red Cross of Lee County, Florida Dept. of Financial Services.
The event is open to the public at no charge, but a canned food item is requested to be donated to the Cape Coral Caring Center.
On June 12 spend a day aboard the StarLite Majesty Hawaiian Luau Luncheon Cruise in Clearwater. Leave the center at 8:30 a.m. (arrive by 8:15) Cost $72 is per person for members and $82 per person for non-members.
In honor of World Elder Abuse Day, a Safeguard Our Seniors seminar will be held June 15 from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration is required for all trips or programs. Call the Lake Kennedy Center at 574-0575 for more information.
Belly dance class
Have fun learning the ancient art and modern styles of this dynamic dance with professional belly dancer and 2002 Middle Eastern and Mediterranean Danse Orientale award recipient Na’ila (Sherry Coffey). Mondays starting June 8: Beginning Belly Dance Mondays from 8 to 9 p.m., Advanced Belly Dance Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. The cost $50 for four weeks.

Maranatha Dance

Pet donations
Pet Donations of food and supplies for the Animal Refuge Center are being collected by residents and associates of Sterling House Cape Coral, a Brookdale Senior Living assisted living community.

Michele Wehrwein Albion, author of The Florida Life of Thomas Edison will be speaking about her book at the following venues: In Fort Myers: June 18, 1:30 p.m. Fort Myers Beach Library; June 20, Barnes and Noble; June 23 at noon at Gulf Coast Live, 90 1 FM and June 23, 6 p.m.Southwest Florida Historical Museum.

Gardening event
Get into gardening on June 19 and 20, at ECHO’s Tropical Fruit Nursery from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday and Saturday, This event will feature workshops for both new and experienced gardeners. All workshops will be offered free of charge.
Take part in free tropical gardening workshops such as Organic Gardening, Fruit Tree Grafting, Summer Vegetable Gardening, Herbs, Container Gardening, Earthworm Castings-Natural fertilizer and Bamboo.
The regularly scheduled guided tour of ECHO’s Global Demonstration Farm will still be available at 10 am.
