Rummage sale
The Cape Coral High School Band will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. March 28 at Caloosa Elementary School, 620 Del Prado Blvd. S. Shop for items or rent a 10-by-10 space for $20 to sell your items. Products include garage sale items plus Tupperware, Avon, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, and Home and Garden Party. Magic show

Fine Arts Night

The North Fort Myers High School Band Boosters will host a craft fair/flea market from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Coral Gate Commons Shopping Center. All vendors are welcome. 2009 Foreign Language Fair
The 2009 Foreign Language Fair will be held from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School, 4750 Winkler Ave. Ext., Fort Myers. Lee County foreign language students will have the opportunity to compete in areas such as projects, media and technology, declamations, skits, entertainment and the Quiz Bowl. The museums have teamed up to offer a variety of camp sessions this year during school holidays, spring break and the summer for kindergartners through seventh-graders. ‘Historical Fact and Fiction’
Edwina Raffa and Prudy Taylor Board, two authors with ties to Lee County, will be featured at a “Historical Fact and Fiction” program today at the Burroughs Home, 2105 First St., Fort Myers. They will discuss their latest publications, answer questions and will have books on hand for purchase and signing. The program is provided by the Uncommon Friends Foundation in conjunction with Lee County Library System’s annual Reading Festival. Raffa, a Fort Myers Beach resident and children’s author, will appear from 10-11 a.m. Board, a former Fort Myers resident, will appear from noon-1 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. Pump It Up!
Girl in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to Pump It Up! from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday at 4331 Veronica S. Shoemaker Blvd., Suite 1, Fort Myers. Activities include bounce houses, slides, obstacle courses and more. Girls must be accompanied by an adult for the entire event. Bring socks to wear during the activities. Cost is $5 per girl. Girls Going Places
Girls Going Places is gearing up for its May 6 event. The program identifies the most enterprising, community-minded teen girls in Southwest Florida who will compete to win national scholarships and prizes. School counselors and principals must have their nominee forms submitted to Lynne Tarman at Alliance Financial Group, 14021 Metropolis Ave., Fort Myers, by April 15 to be included. School principals and counselors not familiar with the program should contact Lynne Tarman at 561-2900. 10th Annual Reading Festival
Volunteers are needed for the 10th Annual Reading Festival to be held Saturday at Centennial Park. Opportunities are available for set up the day before and assistance during the daylong event, as well as clean up afterward. Life Skills Center
