TIB Bank Celebrate Cape Coral Parade names Grand Marshal
Lorena Schmidt, 99, who taught at Cape Coral Elementary for 30 years, will be honored as the grand marshal of the Celebrate Cape Coral Night Parade. Lee County Schools Superintendant Dr. James Browder has accepted the invitation to accompany Schmidt as the grand marshal, said Parade Chair Donna Meola.
The parade will take place on Saturday, March 7, at 6:30pm. The parade
route will begin at 837 S.E. 47th Terrace and end at S.E. 15th Ave.
The parade is a part of Celebrate Cape Coral Block Party to be held
in the Big Johns Town Center parking lot from 4-10 p.m.
Activities at the Block Party include Nashville recording artist Ken Randolph performing after the parade; Da Bomb Entertainment’s live version of TV game show Deal or No Deal before the parade. TIB Bank, the title sponsor of both events, will give one lucky person a chance to enter the Money Machine filled with $1,000 at 9:15 p.m. Other activities include children’s area, vendors, food and drinks. The event is free and open to the public.
