Historical Society
The Cape Coral Histor-ical Society’s monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m., at Cultural Park Theatre, 528 Cultural Park Blvd.
Kenny Schwartz, the first resident of Cape Coral, will be the guest speaker for November.
In 1957, the Rosen Brothers hired Schwartz as vice president and manager of Cape Coral development for Gulf American Land Corporation. His first house was one unit of a four-plex apartment on the corner of Cape Coral Parkway and Coronado Boulevard.
Note that the meting this month only will begin at 2 p.m. instead of 2:20 p.m. The public is invited. No reservations and no admission charge.
Everyone is invited to the grand opening of the third museum building, The Clint and Sue Kelly Building, and celebrating 30 years of the Cape Coral Historical Society, Thurs-day, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. Join us for ribbon cutting, refreshments and new exhibits.

Cape Coral North Rotary Club
The Cape Coral North Rotary Club meets Wed-nesdays at 6:30 p.m. at Cosmopolitan Grill.
At the “Cash for Gold” event, don’t buy anything at the party but get paid to be there with unwanted jewelry. Friends of Wildlife
The Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife’s next meeting takes place Tuesday, Nov. 11. The speaker is Mary Anne Parsons. The topic is: wildlife and water.

Fort Myers Chapter of IAAP
The Fort Myers Chapter of IAAP invites those interested to attend its monthly meetings held the second Tuesday of each month at The Hilton Garden Inn located at 12600 Univer-sity Drive in Fort Myers. November is Project Linus month. The group will be hearing from Helen Hunter who heads up Project Linus in the Fort Myers area. Guests can also join the group for dinner ($18 charge) prior to the meeting.

United Film & Television Artists
The UFTA – United Film & Television Artists Inc., Southwest Florida Chapter, is a non-profit organization that welcomes all those in or interested in the entertainment industry.
Television, radio, theater, film, print, production, writers, hair, makeup, stunts, look-alikes and then some help to make up this organization and anyone who would like to attend their monthly meetings are welcome.

Fort Myers Coin Club
The Fort Myers Coin Club will hold its fall coin show Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Elks Lodge, 1900 Meadows Drive, Fort Myers, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Boy Scouts are encouraged to attend to help fulfill the 10 requirements for the Coin Collecting Merit Badge. A certified Merit Badge Counselor will be in attendance.
The Fort Myers Coin Club meets monthly on the third Thursday at the Riverside Community center, 3016 E. Riverside Drive, in Fort Myers, at 7 p.m.

Gateway to the Islands Kiwanis
The Gateway to the Islands Kiwanis Club held its charter banquet at the clubhouse in Crown Colony on Winkler Road in Fort Myers. The club, which was formed this summer, has reached 36 members. With the addition of this new club, the total number of individuals in Kiwanis in Lee County and LaBelle is 608. The last new Kiwanis club in this area was formed in June 2006.
Over 30 guests were at the charter banquet to support the new Kiwanians including the current Flori-da Kiwanis Gov. Dave Liddell and the immediate past Florida Kiwanis Gov. Mark Taylor.
The club is looking for more service-minded individuals and business professionals who would like to make a direct impact on the community through volunteering. Meetings are held every Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. at the Crown Colony clubhouse.
