Cape Coral North Rotary Club
Cape Coral North Rotary club meets Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.at Cosmopolitan Grill.
At the “Cash for Gold” event, don’t buy anything at the party but get paid to be there with unwanted jewelry. The club’s next gold night is Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Cosmopolitan Grill 3722 Del Prado Blvd. For reservations call Deb Knox 209-2546.
Cape Coral Historical Society
The Cape Coral Historical Society monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. at Cultural Park Theatre at 528 Cultural Park Blvd.
Kenny Schwartz, the first resident of Cape Coral will be the guest speaker.
In 1957 the Rosen Brothers hired Schwartz as vice-president and manager of Cape Coral development for Gulf American land corporation. His first house was one unit of a four-plex apartment on the corner of Cape Coral Pkwy and Coronado Blvd.
This month’s meeting will begin at 2 p.m. instead of 2:20 p.m. The public is invited. Reservations are not required and there is no admission charge.
Everyone is invited to the grand opening of the third museum building, the Clint and Sue Kelly Building, and celebrate 30 years of the Cape Coral Historical Society on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. Join us for ribbon cutting, refreshments and new exhibits.

Fort Myers Coin Club
The Fort Myers Coin Club will hold its fall coin show on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Elks Lodge, 1900 Meadows Drive, in Fort Myers from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Boy Scouts are encouraged to attend to help fulfill the 10 requirements for the Coin Collecting Merit Badge. A certified Merit Badge Counselor will be in attendance.
The Fort Myers Coin Club meets monthly on the third Thursday at the Riverside Community center at 3016 E. Riverside Drive in Fort Myers at 7 p.m.

Gateway to the Islands Kiwanis
The Gateway to the Islands Kiwanis club held their charter banquet at the clubhouse in Crown Colony on Winkler Road in Fort Myers. The club, which was formed this summer, has reached 36 members. With the addition of this new club the total number of individuals in Kiwanis in Lee County and Labelle is 608. The last new Kiwanis club in this area was formed in June 2006.
The club is looking for more service-minded individuals and business professionals who would like to make a direct impact on the community through volunteering. Meetings are held every Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. at the Crown Colony clubhouse.
