Army Specialist Kristopher Lee Cooper
Army Specialist Kristopher Lee Cooper has been assigned his tour of duty to be in Vilseck, Germany starting the first of the year 2009.
Having completed Basic Training at Camp Leonardwood, MI he is now finishing his six month intense training course at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, Texas.
He graduated with honors and received the AUSA Award for recognition of his outstanding qualities of honor, initiative, loyalty and high example to his Comrades in Arms.
After graduation in December, he will be recruiting from our local Army office for two weeks.
He will spend Christmas with his girls, Maddie and Kassie Cooper and then ship out thereafter.
He is the son of proud Mom, Alice Cooper of Cape Coral.
Morgan completes deployment to An Anbar provice, Iraq
Marine Corps Cpl. John J. Morgan, son of Vicki Morgan of North Fort Myers, and Sam Morgan of Cape Coral, along with fellow Marines and sailors of 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, Marine Corps Base, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, recently completed a seven-month deployment to Al Anbar province, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terror.
The “Island Warriors” performed security operations in the regions of Karma and Zaidon as well as conducting partnered operations with Iraqi Security Forces.
As part of the operations, the Marines lived with and taught the Iraqi Police and Provincial Security Forces on professionalism in preparation to become an independent force.
Additionally, the battalion conducted more than $10 million in civil military projects from repairing schools and clinics, to paving roads and rebuilding bridges.
Morgan is a 1998 graduate of Camdenton Regional III High School of Camdenton, Mo., and joined the Marine Corps in February 2006.
