Boy Scout membership on the rise
The 2008 Scouting year is underway! On a recent school night boys from all across Lee County came out in droves to sign-up for America’s foremost youth program.
In total, 603 young men joined our Lee County Boy Scouts family on that one night!
Since then, the Panther District has had another 100 boys join this character-building program. Young men grades 1 – 5 may join the Cub Scouts and boys ages 11 – 18 may join the Boy Scouts.
Sign-up for the 2008 year is still ongoing! To take advantage of this exciting program call 936-8072 to find a pack or troop near you.
Scouting is a fun, adventure filled and cost-effective program available to all Lee County young men.
“The boys won’t even know that they are building character and learning leadership skills because they will be having so much fun!” says Ron Barbour, Panther District Director.
Since 1910, the Boy Scouts of America has been the nation's foremost program of character development and values-based leadership training for youth. The program encourages youth to pursue their special interests, make new friends, develop leadership skills, and give back to their community.
