‘Sleeping Beauty’ at First United Methodist Church
Sleeping Beauty” will be presented on stage at the Life Enrichment Center at First United Methodist Church in downtown Fort Myers. Performed by members of the Family Ministries at FUMC, the production will be presented on April 9 at 6 p.m., April 13 at noon and a special performance for spring break on April 15 at noon.
The performance features a cast of youngsters from 6 to 13 who have been rehearsing for weeks as part of the Family Ministries program at FUMC. The young actors will take audiences on a fun and rewarding journey to the Rainbow Kingdom, where the subjects learn about tolerance and understanding.
A hot meal will be served one half hour prior to each show. The Life Enrichment Center at First United Methodist Church is at 2466 First St. in downtown Fort Myers. Tickets are $5. For tickets, call 332-1152.
For youngsters ages 8 to 13 interested in participating in future programs, there will be an arts camp the week of spring break for Lee County students. From April 14-18, each day will feature a different art project –acting, dancing, visual arts, music, and gardening — and the class will culminate in a talent/art/cooking show on Friday afternoon. The cost for the spring break camp is $75 and includes a hot lunch each day and all materials.
Also, the Third Annual Drama Camp at FUMC will be held June 16-27. The cost is $150 for a two-week drama program that will culminate in a play presented for family and friends.
