Neighborhood Watch of Cape Coral

A New Neighborhood Watch of Cape Coral will meet from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, at the Cape Coral Police Department community room.

Plan to attend the sign-up meeting if you’re interested in starting a neighborhood watch group in the area. Sign-up meetings are held the fourth Thursday of each month. For more information, call 573-3048.

The second quarterly meeting of the Neighborhood Watch of Cape Coral is scheduled for 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, in the Cape Coral Police Department community room.



Cape Coral Ladies of the Elks

The Cape Coral Ladies the Elks board meeting will be at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, at the Lodge, 4631 S.E. 10th Place. Call 541-9859



Garden Club of

Cape Coral

The Garden Club of Cape Coral is presenting a floral show titled “March into Spring.”

The event will be at the Cape Coral Library, 921 S.W. 39th Terrace. The show is open to the public from 2 to 8 p.m., March 28, and from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 29.

Cape Coral Power Squadron

The Cape Coral Power Squadron is planning a Boating and Fishing Flea Market. Benefit the group by cleaning out any unused or extra boating or fishing equipment and donating it to the Squadron. All equipment should be dropped off no later than March 27. Any valuable item can be sold on consignment.

Korean War Veterans Association

Korean War Veterans Association Florida Gulf Coast Chapter No. 155 meets at the VFW Post 8463, 4709 S.E. 11th Place. The group will be having a Korean War Memorial Motorcycle Ride Saturday, March 31, at ECO Park with a 9 a.m. sign-up followed by the ride at 10 a.m. Lunch will be at the Shrine Temple on Santa Barbara Boulevard

A Memorial Dedication ceremony will be Sunday, March 30, in Eco Park.

All veterans who have served during the Korea War era within or outside of Korea, or who, as a member of the armed forces of the United States during this era are eligible to become a member of chapter 155.

Minnesota Club

Minnesota Club will meet at 5 p.m., Sunday, at 5 p.m., March 30, at Christ Lutheran Church, 2411 Del Prado Blvd. The meeting is a pot luck, bring a dish to pass plus beverages and place settings . Entertainment will be the 60-voice Tamiami Village choir. All Minnesotans are welcome. For more information, call 945-3745.



Cape Coral Historical Society

The regular monthly meeting of the Cape Coral Historical Society will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, at Cultural Park Theatre, 528 Cultural Park Blvd.

The speaker John Jacobsen, C.E.O. of Intergraphic Group, Inc., will present, Downtown Cape Coral — Where It’s Been, Where It Is, Where It’s Going.

Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife

Learn how to preserve wildlife in the Cape attend the general meeting of the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife. The meeting will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, at Rotary Park, 5505 Rose Garden Road. The guest speaker will be Charlie Ewell of the Lee County School District. Ewell also volunteers with CCFW, Lee County Bird Patrol, Florida Fish and Wildlife and Florida Omithological Society. His topic will deal with the dynamics of spring migration in Southwest Florida.

Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife also needs volunteers to help find and mark burrowing owl and gopher tortoise nests in Cape Coral. If any nests in the neighborhood are over grown, if new nests that need to be staked, or if you would like to have a starter burrow in the yard, contact the CCFW at 980-2593 or e-mail: www.ccfriendsofwilklife.org.



Fort Myers

Portrait and Figure Painters Society of SW Florida Inc.

Everyone is invited to see Charles Miano of The Southern Atelier Demonstration at the Master Portrait Demonstration meeting hosted by the Portrait and Figure Painters Society of Southwest Florida Inc. Refreshments will be served.

Greater Fort Myers Democratic Club

The Greater Fort Myers Democratic Club presents the second annual Spring Fling Art Auction. The auction will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, April 7. Pre-auction viewing will be from 5 to 6 p.m., at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre.

A $10 donation buys a number to bid with and enters one into the 50/50 cash drawing.

Paintings, photographs, original art, jewelry, books and collectibles will be available.
