Southwest Florida Watershed Council picks board members
The Southwest Florida Watershed Council recently announced its board of directors for 2009-10. The new board includes:
– James Evans as chairman, city of Sanibel Department of Natural Resources
– Greg Rawl as co-chair, hydrogeologist/water resources consultant
– Sharon Arnold as treasurer, Gravina, Smith & Matte Marketing and Public Relations
– Tamara Pigott as secretary, Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau
Board members at large include Karen and Noel Andress of SunMark Realty, Nick Batos of The Brooks Concerned Citizens, John Cassani of Lee County Hyacinth Control District, Donald Duke of Florida Gulf Coast University, Don Eslick of Estero Council of Community Leaders, Ed Hanlon of University of Florida, Jennifer Hecker of Conservancy of Southwest Florida, Pete Quasius of Audubon of Southwest Florida and Rae Ann Wessel of Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation.
The Southwest Florida Watershed Council, a 501(c)(3) organization, is dedicated to protecting, conserving, managing and/or restoring the land and water resources of the Caloosahatchee and Big Cypress watersheds to meet the economic, natural and cultural needs for this and succeeding generations.
