Go Green Energy announces Southwest Florida headquarters

By Staff | Mar 23, 2009

Go Green Energy, an energy efficiency business, has located its headquarters in Southwest Florida in large part because of the prime natural energy resources – sunshine and wind.

The incentives for investing in alternative energy have never been more robust, both for the state of Florida and the federal government. For example, the Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008 extended the federal 30 percent tax credit to renewable energy resources and provides:

– An 8-year extension of the credit to Dec. 31, 2016.

– The ability to take the credit against the alternative minimum tax.

– The removal of the $2,000 tax credit limit for photovoltaic or solar power.

– Sets $4,000 maximum tax credit for small wind systems up to 100 kw.

Go Green Energy provides financial advice on how to take advantage of the federal and state incentives.

Other services include energy efficiency audits addressing energy uses, costs and losses, and comprehensive recommendations on how to leverage Southwest Florida’s powerful energy resources.

The company has partnered with Tim Meinecke, a Fort Myers-based general contractor, to fulfill Go Green Energy’s mission to infuse green design principles with interior and exterior updates which increase the value of customers’ properties, and reduce the cost of and reliance on commercially generated electricity.

Go Green Energy’s product lines include photovoltaic systems, solar hot water systems, vertical axis wind generators, solar attic fans, solar ceiling fans, sun ovens, interior and exterior lighting and window treatments.
