Lee Memorial’s Wiest joins Bank of Florida board

John K. Wiest, chief financial officer for Lee Memorial Health System, has joined the board of directors of Bank of Florida – Southwest.

Wiest has more than two decades of experience in finance, including six years as vice president of finance for NCH Healthcare System in Naples. He joined Lee Memorial Health System in 2000.

Wiest chairs the Lee County Horizon Council, holds memberships in the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is a 1997 graduate of Leadership Collier. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Frostburg State University in Maryland and a master’s in business administration from Florida Gulf Coast University.

“John brings to the board valuable insight into the medical community, a vast amount of relevant experience and a broad knowledge of the Southwest Florida market,” said Edward A. Morton, board chairman for Bank of Florida – Southwest and managing director of investment firm Wasmer, Schroeder & Company.

“I expect that board membership will be enlightening for me personally, and I hope my financial oversight experience will be useful to the bank,” said Wiest.

The $771 million-asset bank is headquartered in Naples and has financial centers in Naples at Colliers Reserve, on Vanderbilt Beach Road and at Park Shore; across from Coconut Point in Bonita Springs; and on Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers.
