Kvetko joins Florida Shores Bank
Florida Shores Bank has announced that industry powerhouse Colleen M. Kvetko has joined the bank as a founding director.
Named the “5th Most Powerful Woman in Banking” by U.S. Banker, Kvetko will serve on the 10-member board of directors for the community bank. She will also serve as president of Florida Shores Bank-Naples, working to establish a new branch in the Naples market.
Kvetko brings nearly four decades of banking experience to her new role with Florida Shores. She will be responsible for developing the Naples market. She will be debuting the Florida Shores exclusive condo/homeowner management program and introducing the community to a new high-touch, high-service, relationship-banking experience.

Established in 2006, Florida Shores Bank is a full-service, community-based commercial bank based in Clearwater with locations in Pompano Beach, Venice, Englewood and Ft. Myers. Smith said that two new locations Naples and St. Cloud are slated to open in the first half of 2009.

A native of Cleveland Ohio, Kvetko spent two decades of her professional career with Fifth Third Bank serving as president, CEO and chair of its Florida operations. During her tenure with Fifth Third, she helped grow the bank from $1 million in deposits to $1.1 billion in deposits and 16 branch locations.
In her leadership role with Fifth Third, she was responsible for managing all lines of business, including retail, investment advisors, commercial, mortgage/consumer and credit. She also served as executive vice president for customer acquisition and marketing, as well as a national lending officer.
She has received numerous accolades during her career, being named among the “Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking” in both 2003 and 2004. She received the Academy of Excellence and Achievement Award in 2005, the Women in Business Award in 2003 and the Yellow Ribbon Award in 2002.
A longtime resident of Naples, Kvetko is extremely active in the community. She currently serves on the board of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, advisory board of Naples Illustrated and the board of regents of Ave Maria University. In addition, she is the co-chair of the inaugural Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida event to be held in Naples.
Past community involvement has included chairing the Economic Development Council of Naples, serving as chairman of the YMCA of Collier County, a board member of the Naples Chamber of Commerce and the Naples Community Hospital Foundation, and as a member of the American Business Women’s Association, Junior League and the Florida Bankers Education Foundation.
Kvetko resides in Naples with her husband, Kirk.
