Cape ophthalmologist to write for national trade magazine

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins VisionCare Group, producer of many respected vision care trade magazines, has selected Cape Coral Eye Center’s Medical Director, Dr. Farrell C. Tyson II, to be a regularly contributing author to its highly-respected Ophthalmology Management Magazine.

With a circulation of 20,000, the publication offers practicing ophthalmologists information on the latest clinical advancements, educational resources and insights into successful practice management.

In his monthly column entitled “Management Essentials,” Dr. Tyson will provide insight and tips for owning and managing a successful vision care practice. Tyson’s innovative and progressive methods contributing to the success of the Cape Coral Eye Center are widely recognized, as his contributions to the advancement of eye care are respected the world over.

Dr. Tyson is one of the foremost innovators in his field. Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and named one of Americas Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumer Research Council, he has introduced to Southwest Florida some of the latest advancements in the treatment of eye diseases.

He has helped revolutionize eye care with the introduction of specialized treatment methods for cataracts, glaucoma, refractive disorders and other diseases of the eye. He continues to advance ophthalmic treatment in the area of refractive surgery, performing custom wavefront LASIK, clear lens extractions, implantable contact lenses (ICL) and astigmatism reduction.

Tyson is also a contributing author to Mastering Refractive IOLs, The Art and Science, published by SLACK, Inc.

An internationally renowned speaker, Dr. Tyson has lectured at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Turkish Glaucoma Congress in Izmir, Turkey, the Russian National Ophthalmology Congress in Moscow, and the Pan African American Congress of Ophthalmology in Dubai. Most recently he has provided the findings of his latest FDA study on intraocular lens implants for cataract patients to physicians in Ontario, Canada, as well as Las Vegas, Atlanta, and Washington D.C.

Dr. Tyson has served on six medical missions providing ophthalmic aid to those in underprivileged communities in Mexico, the Turks and Caicos Islands, Kenya and Honduras.
