Builders Care honors Colonial Bank’s Bassett for service

By Staff | Dec 18, 2008

Builders Care, the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association, recently honored Colonial Bank’s Robert B. Bassett for three years of dedicated service to the organization. The BIA recognized Bassett at its installation banquet and holiday party Dec. 4. Bassett, who serves as Colonial Bank’s area president for Lee and Collier counties, also was sworn in as a member of the 2009 BIA board of directors at the event.

Builders Care provides emergency repairs and construction services to elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged people who are unable to obtain home repairs through traditional means.

“I am so grateful for Bob’s unwavering commitment to Builders Care,” said Heidi Taulman, the nonprofit’s executive director. “Bob has been personally involved with many renovation projects over the years. He has gone above and beyond his role as a board member, and we are so fortunate to have his expertise and guidance.”

Builders Care enlists the volunteer services of Lee BIA members and leverages grants and donated materials to provide construction and remodeling services to qualified homeowners throughout Lee County. Builders Care is headquartered at the Lee BIA offices at 4210 Metro Parkway, Suite 100. Donations can be made online at: www.LeeBuildersCare.org or to the Builders Care general fund at any Colonial Bank. More information is available by calling 938-0056.
