The Urgent Care Center (U.C.C.) of Southwest Florida is celebrating Urgent Care Awareness Week on Nov. 10 through Nov 15 by inviting the public to visit their state-of-the art facilities, get to know what services UCC of Southwest Florida offers, and take advantage of a free blood pressure screening. This special week was established for the first time this year by The Urgent Care Association of America to help educate the public about urgent care and how urgent care centers can serve a vital role in fulfilling some of the healthcare needs of families and individuals.

Urgent Care Centers are a valuable component in a neighborhood’s health care delivery system, offering a more cost-effective and efficient way for people to receive medical care for minor and acute illness and injury when primary care is not available or appropriate, and over-crowded emergency rooms are too costly. They provide walk-in, extended hour medical care for conditions such as cuts and lacerations, sprains/strains, colds, fever, flu, insect bites, ear infections, rashes, backaches, vomiting and diarrhea, stomach aches, simple fractures, and many other illnesses that are not life or limb threatening.

The medical staff at The Urgent Care Center of Southwest Florida has the most extensive level of emergency room experience in southwest Florida.

Their spa-like facilities with locations in Estero and Cape Coral have x-ray and lab capabilities on-premises and they accept most insurance and offer an immediate 25% discount for those without insurance.

They are open seven days a week and evenings to meet almost any schedule and patients can go online for an appointment, although no appointment is necessary. Open House hours and screenings for Urgent Care Awareness Week coincide with the Centers’ operating hours at both UCC locations in Estero and Cape Coral.

The centers are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m.to 4 p.m.
