First American Bank announces the appointment of Paul Sanborn to the First American Bank board of advisors.

Serving as director of Industrial Development and Community Relations, Sanborn worked with Gulf American Land Corporation managing the Yacht Club, Country Club. He also served as senior vice president of marketing for Sun Bank, Community National Bank and South Trust Bank, and as marketing officer for Cape Coral Bank.

Sanborn was vice chairman and member of the board of directors of the Florida Bankers Association. He served 29 years on the Cape Coral Hospital Board and Medical Center Board, and 20 years as an elected commissioner of the Lee County Mosquito Control Board. Sanborn served on the board of directors for South Trust Bank, Cape Coral National Bank and on the Community Board of Directors of First National Bank of Florida.

Selected Citizen of the Year twice, Sanborn has served as president of the Cape Coral Rotary Club (charter member), district governor of Rotary International, president of the chamber of commerce and has served numerous years as president of the Cape Coral Historical Society where he was designated official historian by the city of Cape Coral. As chairman of the Cape Coral High School Task Force, Sanborn worked to bring the first high school to the city.
