Kidz Connection offers array if items

Lee becomes registered architect
Bryan Lee, of BSSW Architects, Inc. has received notice from the Department of Business and Professional Regulation that he has successfully completed the requirements to become a registered architect. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Lee’s first and only career aspiration was architecture.
Lee began his career as an intern with BSSW in 2002 and the firm assisted him though the Intern Development Program. Participation in IDP is required for initial registration by all U.S jurisdictions with the exception of Arizona, Guam and the Virgin Islands. The comprehensive training program requires more than 5,000 hours of experience in the core competencies of Design, Construction Documents, Contract Administration, Project Management, Office Management and Professional and Community Service.
Recent projects in Lee’s portfolio include the Lee County Justice Center, a combination of remodeling and new construction of more than 500,000 square feet; the City of Fort Myers Public Works Annex renovation, known as “The Red Brick Building”; the recently opened Lakes Park Railroad Museum; and renovations to the County’s historic Terry Park Stadium.
Mercado named personal lines associate
Roger Mercado Jr. has been appointed a personal lines associate at Oswald Trippe and Company Inc. According to John Pollock, CIC, president of OTC, Mercado will be based in the company’s Fort Myers office. Mercado was most recently owner/manager of Patio 33 restaurant in the River District.
He has also served as program manager in Lee County’s Department of Human Services. During his tenure with the county, Mercado received state and national recognition for the creation of a restorative justice program for victims of crime, the community and youthful offenders. Active in the community, he currently serves on the American Cancer Society’s board of directors.
Mercado received Gulfshore Business’s 40 Under 40 recognition in 2004 as a leader in business and community service.
Mercado holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and a master’s in social work from Barry University, Miami.
Restaurant to give profits to League
Beef ‘O’ Brady’s and the Lee County Sheriff’s Youth Activities League are inviting the public to all of the Lee County Beef 'O' Brady’s Family Sports Pubs locations every Monday evening during September.
Beef ‘O’ Brady’s will donate 10 percent of all food sales to the Sheriff's Youth Activities League of Lee County.
Chamber announces plans for trade show
The Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce will hold its 2008 Trade and Business Expo from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Oct. 16, at the new Microtel Inn & Suites in Lehigh.
The annual event will be open to the general public at no charge. The Expo provides businesses with an opportunity to showcase their goods and services to potential customers. The cost for exhibitors is $50 for Chamber members and $75 for nonmembers. Space is limited and tables are now available on a first come, first serve basis. Noble Jewelers will buy your gold jewelry
The public may bring in all types of gold to the Sterling House of Lehigh Acres on from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 6.
The Gold Exchange, a certified dealer, will purchase old golden pieces of jewelry. It can be broken, mangled, tangled, unwanted jewelry pieces, out of date styles, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and event dental gold.
The event is being held by Noble Jewelers of Fort Myers.
Refreshments and a surprise gift will be given to everyone attends. You can RSVP so the Sterling House can make plans by calling 368-2500. The Gold Exchange will be held in the Gallery of the Sterling House at 1251 Business Way in Lehigh.
Payments will be made at the site by check. No cash will be on the premises, Noble Jewelers officials said.
