Investors’ Security Trust opens new location

Charles K. Idelson, president and CEO of Investors’ Security Trust Company, announced the opening of the Collier County office March 4, in the Premier Executive Center, 1415 Panther Lane, Suite 246, Naples.

The office will be under the leadership of Joseph E. Cleveland, senior vice president. Cleveland has 22 years of fiduciary experience and lives in Naples. He is president of the Corporate Fiduciaries Association of Southwest Florida, serves on board of directors of United Way of Collier County, is vice-chairman board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Florida, a member of the Estate Planning Council of Naples and a member of the Estate Planning Council of Lee County.



Jose Burgos receives architecture license

SchenkelShultz Architecture has announced that Jose Burgos has received his architecture license and has been promoted to associate. Burgos, a Cape Coral resident, has been employed with SchenkelShultz Architecture since 1997 and has played a vital role in many of the firm’s educational facility and aviation projects. He is a graduate of Florida A & M University with a master of architecture degree. Currently, Burgos is the project architect on Hernando County “EEE” High School and assisting in the construction administration for the Immokalee Technical Center.



Cape eye center adds sales coordinator

The Cape Coral Eye Center, a full service eye surgery and laser center, has announced that Mark Lindsay has joined the practice as optical sales coordinator. He has more than 17 years of experience in the optical industry, which includes district manager of Wal-Mart’s vision centers in South Carolina and Georgia and business center manager for Lens-crafters in Michigan.

Lindsay is charged with staff training and further development of the center’s five optical shops. He will be working closely as a team with the optical shop professionals. Each of Cape Coral Eye Center’s five locations has a complete stock of deluxe frames to choose from with prices ranging from economical to extravagant.



Ice Cream Club opens in Shoppes at Surfside

The Ice Cream Club of Cape Coral is now open at The Shops At Surfside in Cape Coral.

Owned and operated by Joe Mikulus and Nick Roller, the shop’s hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday; and 11 a.m. through 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Olive Garden names general manager

Olive Garden Italian restaurant has appointed North Port resident Jerrilynn Dean as general manager of the new restaurant at 1900 Pine Island Road, N.E., in Cape Coral, which will open Monday, April 21.

As general manager, Dean will be responsible for leading the team that maintains the highest quality of service in the restaurant. Dean brings 19 years of restaurant experience to her new position. She has been with Olive Garden for more than 13 years, most recently serving as general manager of the Olive Garden at 1341 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. She received an associate’s degree in sports medicine from Colorado State Univer-sity in Fort Collins, Colo.

Dean is one of more than 600 managers who have trained at Olive Garden’s Culinary Institute of Tuscany and visited its Riserva di Fizzano restaurant, which serves as the source of inspiration for many dishes on Olive Garden’s menu.

Olive Garden will begin accepting applications for employment Wednes-day, March 26. Those interested in applying for a position with Olive Garden should apply in person at the restaurant, Monday through Saturday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Beginning March 26, the phone number is 573-0480.



Edward Jones receives honor

The global financial services firm Edward Jones was named the No. 1 full-service retail brokerage among affluent investors by The Luxury Institute, an independent research institution focusing on the top 10 percent of America’s wealthy.

The firm placed at the top of the study and posted above-average ratings on all aspects of the customer experience, according to Sam Mazzotti, a financial advisor in Cape Coral. The Luxury Institute’s full-service study was conducted during June 2007. This study surveyed 1,650 wealthy consumers who use six national full-service brokerages.

In a separate study, Edward Jones’ Web site, www.edwardjones.com, was rated the most effective financial brokerage Web site in the April 2007 Luxury Web site Effectiveness Index survey of financial brokers.

Jackson joins OssLin Model/Talent Agency

Hollywood actor Aaron Jackson has taken up residency in Cape Coral to join The OssLin Model/Talent Agency as talent director to teach children in the community how to make their dreams come true.

According to staff and parents, Jackson has truly made a huge difference at OssLin in the teaching of small children, pre-teens, teens and adults who are interested in the movie, Broadway and commercial industry. He teaches classes 4 days a week at OssLin.
