When Cape Coral Hospital opened on July 5, 1977, it had 94 beds and 254 employees. It sat almost alone on two-lane Del Prado Blvd – Caloosa Middle School was its only neighbor. Today, the hospital has 291 beds and nearly 1,500 employees. It treats thousands of patients each year and is the heart of health care in the Cape Coral Community.

On Sunday, July 1, Cape Coral Hospital will celebrate its 35-year anniversary from 1-3 p.m.

Cape Coral Hospital Chief Administrative Officer Scott Kashman will kick off the anniversary celebration, joined by employees and volunteers who have been with Cape Coral Hospital for all of those 35 years. Guided tours of the hospital and free health screenings will follow.
