FMPD arrests five in drug investigation
On Tuesday, Feb. 24, the Fort Myers Police Department’s Special Investigations Group, with the assistance of the SWAT Team and Community Policing Coordinators, served search warrants in the Harbor East Apartments located at 4100 Edgewood Ave.
Within apartment F92, detectives seized approximately 150 grams of marijuana (packaged for resale) and one gram of cocaine. Within apartment F101, detectives seized five handguns, one sawed-off shotgun, 38 MDMA pills, approximately 15 grams of cocaine (packaged for resale), approximately 50 grams of marijuana (packaged for resale), one set of body armor, one pair of handcuffs and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia. Police also seized $1,533.00.
According to the FMPD, five people were arrested. They included, Rosanna Gonsalves, 68, charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of cocaine; Christina Wynn, charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell; Mark Montgomery, 23, charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of MDMA with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia; George Thompson, 22, charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia; and Sherrick Oliver, 21, who was outside of the building as the SWAT team approached, retrieved a handgun from a concealed location in his clothing and threw it to the ground. He was subsequently arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm.
