The city of Cape Coral has made temporary repairs to the Chiquita Lock, and the boat lock is now operational. The lock was shut down Tuesday evening due to a mechanical problem.

The city is in the process of locating new replacement parts and will install them as soon as they are available. The temporary repairs should allow the lock to function properly until that time.
