Tate appointed to District 1 seat
The Cape Coral City Council has appointed former council member Gloria Tate to fill the vacant District 1 seat.
Tate, who previously served nine years on the board before being term limited out, will serve the one year remaining in the position.
The District 1 seat became vacant when Jim Burch was appointed mayor. That seat became vacant after former mayor Eric Feichthaler resigned to run for the Lee County Commission.
Tate was sworn in tonight following a 4-3 vote for appointment.
