Deputies find, apprehend fugitive
A man sought for fleeing from deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Warrants Unit has been located in Charlotte County.
On Tuesday, Dec. 9, at approximately 1:20 p.m., the Lee County / U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, comprised of members from the U.S. Marshal’s Office, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement, along with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a home in Port Charlotte and arrested Christopher Edward Acree, 23.
Acting on information developed during the investigation, task force members descended on 195 Danforth Ave., Port Charlotte, and located Acree hiding in one of the rooms of the home.
Acree was taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail by members of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He has been charged with violation of probation for absconding
