Air Force Senior Airman Kimberly J. Spicer has deployed to Southwest Asia in the Persian Gulf region to support the missions of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force Horn of Africa as a member of the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing (AEW). The servicemember is regularly assigned to the 366th Equipment Maintenance Squadron, Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.

Wing members provide support for the U.S. Air Forces Central mission. The 379th AEW is a large, diverse expeditionary wing with more than 100 combat and combat support aircraft, including eight coalition airframes assigned with missions ranging from close air support, airlift, refueling, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. This collection makes the base a large hub for humanitarian airlift activity in Iraq, Afghanistan and Horn of Africa while providing mission essential combat power, aeromedical evacuation and intelligence support for three theaters of operations.

Spicer is an aerospace ground equipment journeyman with four years of military service.

She is the daughter of Lin Friedman of North Fort Myers, and sister of Maranatha Parke of Brandon, Fla.

Her father and stepmother, Al and Jerlyn Spicer, reside in Brandon, Fla.

The airman is a 1999 graduate of Brandon Senior High School.
